2012 Cloud/Virtualization Predictions
Hi Folks,
It seems 2012 will be the year with most predictions about cloud computing/virtualization by industry pundits, experts and bloggers. Making predictions isn't really my thing but I would like to get your opinion, thoughts on what 2012 holds for the cloud computing and virtualization industry?
If I had to make a prediction and this might just the only one... I would say that heterogeneous cloud/virtualization management would (should?) be focus of the industry in 2012. With multiple hypervisors, and many organizations wanting to run 2 or 3 in their environment, it would become increasingly difficult to manage each hypervisor from its own console. To be able to sustain cloud/virtualization growth, cross-vendor infrastructure management should be the priority for many established and upcoming companies.
What are your thoughts on 2012? Any interesting predictions?
