Default Upgrading Hypervisor to Windows 2008 R2

We have just upgraded our Hypervisor to Windows Server 2008 R2 with SP1.

We had 3 VMs on directly connected drives and 1 VM on an iSCSI drive. After the upgrade the VMs on the directly connected drives all work as expected but the VM on the iSCSI drive will not start.

I have tried removing the VHD file from the VM and creating a new VM and connecting the VHD to it. The new VM will start but fails after 10% saying:
Microsoft Emulated IDE controller …. …. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
There are several messages saying basically the same thing and specifying the path of the VHD.

I have tried exporting the VM and importing it back which has worked in the past but the import fails.

It would appear that the VHD has some sort of flag set to say it is in use by another VM but this is not the case.

The new VM does not have a DVD/CD allocated.

Any ideas anyone?
