Default Web Hosting Server

I need help finding out which virtualization solution would help me out more which one is more manageable and offers more performance.
I want to run a data farm for web hosting on red hat linux. I thought about connecting a whole bunch of servers in a cluster and running 1 or 2 VMs on it. so have like 50 high performance servers to run 2 VMs for hosting. but the question is most VM solutions offer a limited amount of vCPU. I was wondering if lets say my cluster has 200 CPUs will they all be used even if i select 8 vCPU in the VM. and how would the VM use the memory of the cluster. I was thinking about using RedHat virtualization technology but if you think something else might help me i would greatly appreciate your help.

HI Mosesaro,

Welcome to Virtualization.net and thanks for joining!

With VMware vSphere 5, you can have up to 32 vCPU per virtual machine but if you implement FT, then you are limited to only 1 vCPU.

I can't imagine thing which would need 200 vCPUs though. What kind of application are you going to run?

FT = Fault Tolerance

Which virtualization product are you planning on using to cluster 200 servers?

I am planning about virtualizing red hat to run a website. i am thinking about using red hat virtualization because of what i know it supports clustering. I dont know much about vsphere

I ant something that can allow me utilize all the power of the cluster.
