Leostream Announces Cloud Desktop Availability in HP Cloud Services

Leostream Corporation, a leading developer of virtual and cloud-hosted desktop software, today announced that it has added support for HP Cloud Services as one of the public cloud options available with Leostream Cloud Desktops. In addition, Leostream has joined the HP Cloud Services partner ecosystem.

“HP Cloud Services, part of HP’s Converged Cloud portfolio, offers an excellent infrastructure choice,” says Leostream’s CEO, Mike Palin. “With HP Cloud Services we are able to reinforce our vision of providing customers with the affordable and quick-to-implement hosted desktops that they demand.”

Leostream Cloud Desktop’s web interface provides a suite of tools that allow customers to mimic a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) in the public cloud. By enabling the rapid deployment of hosted desktops in the cloud, Leostream Cloud Desktops eliminates the time and costs associated with building VDI in a private data center. The collaboration between Leostream and HP gives customers the option to create Windows Desktops (Using the Microsoft® Windows® Server 2008 R2 operating system) that are built on HP’s public cloud infrastructure.

Using the Leostream Cloud Desktop interface on HP’s public cloud, customers can provision new desktops, assign these desktops to users, provide a common file server for all users in an account, create custom images that can be used to spin up fully configured desktops, schedule power cycles for machines, and more. Users can connect to cloud desktops from almost any end-point device with network connectivity including laptops, Androids, Chromebooks, and Apple© mobile devices. Extended functionality for enterprises and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) allow for the independent management of desktops for multiple business units or customer accounts.

In collaborating with HP, Leostream remains on the pulse of public cloud development and advancements, and leads the way for flexible cloud desktop management solutions.
