GlobalOne Launches Mobile Cloud Services Practice

GlobalOne, a leader in Cloud Computing, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Social Collaboration professional services for the enterprise, today announced GlobalOne Mobility, a new practice that will offer professional services for building, deploying and maintaining mobile cloud apps for both consumer and enterprise environments. Doug Maloney, former General Manager Innovation and New Business at Vodafone Hutchinson Australia, will lead the new practice as Vice President Mobility at GlobalOne.

“We are thrilled to have Doug Maloney and his team join GlobalOne,” said David Northington, CEO of GlobalOne. “The Appland team has been wildly successful bringing highly scalable apps such as Who2Call and Cricket LIVE Australia to the consumer market. It’s time that companies were enabled to meet their desire to use mobile as a serious platform for business applications. This new practice will focus on the tremendous opportunity to bring consumer-style user experience and scale to mobile enterprise applications.”

GlobalOne Mobility will offer clients a unique combination of mobile consumer app expertise along with cloud computing, SaaS, CRM and social enterprise experience to deliver highly innovative mobile cloud applications. The new group will help clients build a vision and roadmap for mobile applications within their organization and then build and deploy mobile social enterprise apps that extend the Cloud to mobile devices. The GlobalOne Mobility practice also has a contract to build, deploy and maintain mobile applications for Vodafone Australia.

“Companies are struggling with employees and partners who want to use mobile devices as their main business tool,” said Doug Maloney. “But most organizations only support a few traditional mobile applications such as email, calendaring and contact management. Corporations can significantly improve productivity by delivering key business applications for smartphones and tablets where the user experience matches the expectations set by consumer apps. To date, usability, scalability and data integration challenges have limited innovation in enterprise mobile apps. This new team has the expertise to overcome these challenges and bring a whole new era of mobile apps to the enterprise.”

“With the launch of this new capability, we will also extend our G1 Solutions Framework to deliver vertical-specific capabilities onto mobile devices,” said Geoff Merrick, CTO of GlobalOne. “This new set of mobile apps will empower firms to better enable their mobile workforce, sell products more effectively in real-time, and create an overall competitive advantage.”
