Speakers: Scott Lowe – Engineering Architect, VMware
Arvind Soni – Sr Product Manager, VMware

OpenStack is a open source cloud framework that is increasingly part of discussions about how to build future public and private Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) clouds. However, significant confusion exists about what OpenStack is, what problems it solves, and how it relates to other datacenter technologies, including products from VMware. This talk will give you a strong foundation in understanding OpenStack concepts and terminology, discuss what use cases OpenStack is and is not designed to tackle, and cover a set of frequently ask questions regarding OpenStack. It will also cover how VMware has and continues to contribute open source code to integrate VMware technologies into OpenStack as best-of-breed components and share several easy ways for you to learn more about using OpenStack with VMware. No prior familiarity with OpenStack is assumed for this talk.
